The King Mountain Neighborhood is one of the fastest growing areas of the CoB, and the Parks and Recreation department have been working hard to ensure that as our community develops it remains a livable space, with the area's natural beauty accessible to all.
There are three city owned open spaces within our neighborhood, the Queen Mountain Open Space, the Bakerview Open Space and Van Wyck Park. While the Bakerview and Queen Mountain open spaces are scheduled for more substantial development first, Van Wyck Park is already very accessible to the community, and the Parks Department is working with the KMNA PROS Sub-committee to start establishing a community garden and disc golf course for the neighborhood in 2022.
The first step in this exciting endeavor will be an open house at 347 Van Wyck Rd, Bellingham, WA 98225 this Saturday (26th Feb) from 1 - 3pm. Please swing by to chat with the Parks Department and KMNA Board/PROS Sub-committee, and take a stroll around Van Wyck Park.
